Entrusted to determine and mobilize the economic agenda of Dubai, the Department of Economic Development (DED) is ready to take its first digital transformation steps by empowering its workforce using Dell’s PC-as-a-Service customized model. This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Abdullah Hassan, CEO of the Corporate Support Services sector in DED and Fady Richmany, Senior Director and General Manager, UAE at Dell EMC and marks a landmark partnership in driving a service-based economy for the emirate.
As technology becomes more and more pervasive, the DED looks to boost greater collaboration between employees and teams. Leveraging Dell EMC’s Workforce Transformation solutions, the DED employees will have access to innovative, interconnected devices that will allow them to make use of best in class services regardless of their physical location. This fundamental shift in how the DED works will path the way for creating a more modern and diversified service-based economy which will ultimately improve the business environment and accelerate productivity growth.
Progress lies at the intersection of technology and humanity, and purpose-built technologies are an integral pillar of this journey. Therefore, we wanted to collaborate with a partner that could accelerate our smart transformation and help build our digital future, especially in an era earmarked by the technology revolution.
– Abdulla Hassan, CEO, Corporate Support Services, DED
The DED also wants to expand their capabilities in delivering easy to consume IT services, highly effective real-time support, enhanced customer engagement, and cutting-edge security for the growing mobile workforce. And through these efforts, the DED not only plans to leap forward in creating a paperless environment but their goals to improve productivity and reduce related costs are core to Dell EMC’s own corporate philosophy.
Deploying over 800 Dell workstations and laptops and equipping its IT environment with Dell EMC’s industry-leading technology infrastructure and solutions, the DED will be able to utilize services that span the entire device lifecycle from deployment to management and support right through to retirement. This will optimize the total cost of ownership in a secure, mobile, and scalable manner through a cloud-based infrastructure that would otherwise be nearly impossible to achieve.
By simplifying IT and the complexities associated with it, Dell’s solutions will empower the DED to increase its level of efficiency and effectiveness and offer an exceptional unprecedented level of service to its customers. We are honored to be a part of the DED’s transformation journey and we look forward to innovating even more together to further support the emirate’s vision of realizing the goals of Smart Dubai 2021.
