Buy Recommendation for EMC – Isilon Momentum

EMC continues its’ string of positive analyst reviews with the latest Buy rating from Peter Misek of Jeffries. Misek specifically calls out the future share gains in NAS Storage at the expense of NetApp with the pending release of new features that will allow Isilon to expand its’ expertise to broader enterprise wide adoption.

According to Misek, “EMC hit a homerun with its VMware acquisition, and we believe Isilon will be another validation of its ‘string of pearls’ acquisition strategy. Our checks indicate that Isilon has added new features that should enable it to jump from its current vertical concentration in Internet, video, and genomics (e.g., Avatar’s special effects were stored on a huge Isilon cluster) to broader enterprise adoption, especially for private clouds.”

Misek initiates coverage of both NetApp and IBM with hold recommendations. Read the full Forbes article here and learn more about EMC Isilon’s new Maverick OneFS coming this fall here.
