Last month, Dell Enterprise Validation became the first team based in North America to achieve TMMi Certification. This is a major differentiator for Dell Enterprise Servers. Customers can be assured that the products they buy have been tested by a Best in Class test organization.
TMMi (Test Maturity Model integrated) is a framework for assessing the maturity of the test processes in an organization. It is managed by the TMMi Foundation, which is also the international accrediting agency for the certification.
My organization worked with a few top-notch consultants from Cognizant over a two year period to improve our test methods and processes before attempting the rigorous seven-week assessment. We are over 300 employees spread around the globe, primarily in Austin, Bangalore and Taipei, so this was no small challenge.
The certification is valid for three years. The list of benefits includes the right to use the TMMi Foundation logo on our products and marketing materials, if we choose. Oh, and did I mention the trophy and the plaque?
