Dell OEM Attends SPS/IPC/Drives in Germany

I’m very excited that Dell OEM Solutions are exhibiting at SPS/IPC/Drives trade show an exhibition for electric automation in Nuremberg, Germany from 23-25 November. This is the first time Dell will be exhibiting at this show and I know you may be asking yourself the questionwhy?

Dell OEM have been working with OEM customers for over 12 years in more than 40 Industry verticals across the world so we’re certainly not new to this world. We want to talk to industrial engineers and decision makers to understand what trends they are seeing both in Germany and other countries and see how we could potentially help them get their products to market.

The industrial automation market is forced more and more to integrate leading edge x86 technology into production-, robotic- and control systems. Because of the increasing need for visualisation the demand for more powerful systems like Dual- or QuadCore keeps moving. So the typical industrial hardware supplier is adjusting their portfolio from special embedded form factors and non-standardised solutions to standardised platforms.

This is leading to a faster moving product lifecycle for suppliers and end customers. Dell, with its OEM approach, and specific products, like the Dell™ OptiPlex™ XE, is closing the gap between the fast moving leading edge PC technology and the embedded needs of an industrial customer. The advantage to industrial customers is the combination of a 3.5 year stable lifecycle and the operation in extended 24/7 environmental conditions up to 55C’ and all for a reasonable value closer to a standard PC rather than to a typical industrial one. Below is a preview of the OptiPlex XE from ESC Boston:

With its first participation on SPS/IPC/Drives, Dell OEM is underlining its focus onto the industrial automation market, as one of the most dynamic verticals in industry.

Come visit Dell OEM at stand #8-521 and talk to some of our global OEM team, including Technology Evangelist Josh Neland. Check out Josh’s presentation on Industrial PCs here. You can also watch him talk about Dell’s Industrial PC, the Dell™ OptiPlex™ XE in this video from ECN.

We’ll also have some members of our German sales and technical staff on the stand to speak to German visitors. Make sure you enter to win a Dell M109S Projector at our stand.

I look forward to catching up with you at Dell stand #8-521 at the show. Follow us on Twitter for the latest news at the show.
