Dell PowerEdge Reliability Contest: Tell your story for a chance to win a Streak!

Nearly 15 years ago, Dell began selling its now famous PowerEdge line of X86 servers. Today, Dell PowerEdge servers are a staple in most data centers and IT departments with tens of millions being deployed globally to tackle every workload and computing task imaginable. We’re proud of our PowerEdge heritage. So in order to celebrate, we are kicking-off the first ever, “Most Reliable Server Contest” today.

Has your Dell PowerEdge server survived a disaster, long-term exposure to a harsh environment or been running since the dawn of time? We want to hear how your server has stood the test of time, whether that is beating the odds against natural or man-made disaster or doing its dutiful job day after day for many, many years. You tell us your story and you could be one of two people to win a new Dell Streak.

We have two categories for submission:

  • Oldest, Longest Running Dell PowerEdge Server
  • Best Dell PowerEdge Server Survival Story

Submit your story on the Dell Tech Center website by visiting www.delltechcenter.com. Please make sure to include the server model number, workload or application, duration of use and server survival story if entering the survival category. All entries must be received by October, 21st, 2010. Also, be sure to you tell your friends!

Here’s a video where Forrest Norrod, Dell’s VP of server platforms explains what we’re looking for in a bit more detail:
