Live Chat on PowerEdge Systems Management

SHARE:
Copied!

My colleagues over at the Dell Enterprise Technology Center are hosting a technical chat tomorrow (April 21 at 3pm central time) on some of the new systems management capabilities found in the new eleventh generation of Dell PowerEdge servers.

Specifically, the chat will focus on Dell’s Lifecycle Controller, which is the engine for advanced embedded management and is delivered as part of iDRAC Express in the new Dell servers.

As always, if you miss the live chat Scott (@dellservergeek) and team archive the text of the chat for future consumption. I encourage you to join the session and bring some of your IT buddies along for the ride. Happy Monday all!

  1. Hello, I have a Dell Poweredge T300 here in Vienna and installed Windows Small Business Server 2008 on it. I am trying a "bare metal" backup I made of drive C: and F:. I also have a RD-1000 internal drive  but right do not use it right now. Everytime I try to boot to the DVD, it does check the dvd drive, but then regularly starts up with drive C: anyways where SBS is installed on. How can I make it recognize the installation disk. Maybe this is just a Microsoft issue, but maybe you know something more about it!

  2. Hi viennacab,

Have you tried to hit F11 at the BIOS Screen to enter the boot menu?  This will allow you to choose the DVD drive.  What DVD specifically are you trying to boot to?

  3. I have a Dell Latitude D530 that stopped charging the battery and once the battery was drained stopped working completely.  I have checked the power adapter (I have three spare adapters) and it is working properly.  The green light on the power adapter comes on when it is plugged into the electrical outlet, but the light immediately goes out as soon as I plug the other end into the computer.  I suspect the motherboard has shorted out, but would like another opinion
