These are a Few of My Favorite Things

”Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. Bright copper kettles and warm woolen sound of musicmittens. Brown paper packages tied up with strings. These are a few of my favorite things.” These lyrics written by Oscar Hammerstein and sung by Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music movie always remind me of my childhood.  This was my favorite movie as a kid and I was always excited for the yearly viewing.  As the song is now stuck in my head and I’m guessing yours too, I think of some of my favorite things from 2015.

One of my favorite things I do at my job, for instance, is manage this blog.  The Core was born in April of this year.  We have had a ton of different content ranging from leadership advice to preparing your data for a natural disaster to advice on trying to help you run your data center seamlessly.  Our authors can tell you how super picky I am about what gets published on The Core blog.  I know as they read this they are nodding their heads up and down.  I have appreciated all of the great writings posted since April.  A few of them were my favorite things.

In David Letterman style, here are my top ten favorite blogs:

10.  Transformation and Disruption: Riding the Big Waves

9.  Escape from Alcatraz is Like a Data Protection Plan Gone Bad

8.  The Summer of Love and the Urge to Converged Infrastructure

7.  Tape is Like a Parachute

6.  El Nino and the Cloud

5.  Are You Ready for Your Next IT Fire drill?

4.  Why Superman Would Secure His Data Protection in the EMC Data Protection Cloud

3.  Comprehensive Cloud Vendor Digital River Provides a Worry Free eCommerce Experience for Customers Globally

2.  Beachbody Gets Fit with VNX2 and Isilon

1.  6 Lessons that IT Leaders Can Learn from Darth Vader

I hope you have enjoyed The Core posts as much as I have enjoyed bringing them to you.  2016 is going to be a great year for The Core.  If there is a topic you would like to see blogged about please comment on that.  We write this blog for you and hope it is also one of your favorite things.
